Red Light Therapy
There are various conditions where Red Light Therapy can benefit:
Nerve pain and nerve regeneration
Soft tissue healing
Anxiety and depression
Improved skin appearance and elasticity
Improved muscle performance and recovery
Red Light Therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation (PBM) or Low level light therapy (LLLT) was first used to gro plants in outer space. It was soon discovered that the red lights could also help with energy and growth in human cells.
Low Level Light Therapy
Low Level Light Therapy or “LLLT” uses red light and near infrared light to promote cellular healing processes in the body. Both of these wavelengths are environmentally present in the rays of the sun, we are just harnessing the healing power of these waves for you without dangerous exposure to UVB rays.
LLLT has had widespread use in clinical applications since the 1980s and has been studied extensively for decades before that.
It reduces oxidative stress on your cells, enables proper enzymatic activity, increases the availability for electron use in the body, and increases the oxygen absorption in cells.
Because of the combination of high degree of penetration in skin and absorption by respiratory chain components, light in the spectral range from 600 to 1300 nm (or LLLT) is useful for promoting wound healing, tissue repair, and skin rejuvenation
What to Expect
Patients can expect a red and near infrared light shone on to the area of therapy and to relax and simply let the light work.
